A new obstacle to Morata's January transfer to Barça

While waiting to close the registration of Ferran Torres, something that seems to be on track after the renewal of Samuel Umtiti and the loan of Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa, Barça continues to work to strengthen the squad in this winter market and one of the big targets is Alvaro Morata.

Xavi wants a striker to finish shoring up the attacking front and the Juventus striker meets the profile that the azulgrana coach is looking for, but his arrival will not be easy. In addition to the problem of the Culés with the financial 'fair play', the coach Massimiliano Allegri does not want to part with the Spaniard unless he has a replacement of full guarantees and so he told the player in a meeting. Mauro Icardi (PSG) sounds like a replacement, but the operation is not simple either.

If those two factors already made Morata's departure from Juventus very difficult, the 'bianconero' club confirmed this Monday the serious injury of Federico Chiesa until the end of the season. The Italian international suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Roma and will not play again this season, making him a very important loss for the Juventus forward line.

Without Chiesa and if Morata leaves for Barça, Juventus would be left with only Dybala, Kean, Kulusevski, Bernardeschi and Kaio Jorge as strikers for the remainder of the season and would have to sign one more striker to avoid offensive problems.
