Fekir talks about his frustrated transfer to Liverpool

Nabil Fekir, who is completing his third season in the ranks of Real Betis, with whom he will play for the first time in European competitions, has explained in an interview with 'The Times' that his frustrated failed move to Liverpool a year before arriving at the verdiblanco club was due to problems with what was then its representative.

"It was a dark moment. I saw many things that were not true. It has been said that the knee prevented me from going to Liverpool, but that is not true. I went to Clairefontaine and they had all the medical evidence that the knee was fine. I had a problem with my agent. He is responsible for the failure of the signing. They had to find a reason why the case did not go well and they put the blame on the knee," Fekir told 'The Times'.

Fekir was about to leave in the summer of 2018 from Olympique de Lyon to Liverpool for about 60 million euros -L'Equipe and other media came to consider the transfer closed, but finally the operation was frustrated.

The Franco-Algerian broke with his representative, Jean-Pierre Bernés , and the following year he arrived in Seville in exchange for 19.75 million euros plus 10 million in variables. He has a contract until 2023 with the Verdiblanca entity and a few months ago he changed his representation agency and signed for Promoesport.
Nabil Fekir suffered a cruciate ligament tear in September 2015, which left him out for seven months, until April 2016, but his knee has not caused problems since then and at Betis he has only missed a few games due to problems muscular. He currently leads the ranking of dribbles completed in LaLiga , with 13, he is first in fouls committed (11) and fourth in received (9).
